I would like to thank the Center for Social Concerns and the International Summer Service Learning Program for making my two months in Senegal possible. The ISSLP provided me with the financial and emotional support to make my summer possible. A special thanks especially to Rachel Tomas-Morgan and Suzanne Wilson, who made this all possible.
I would like to thank Vivre Ensemble for allowing me to work with their wonderful organization and for providing me with housing for the summer. Vivre Ensemble is a French NGO that provides an orphanage and free clinic to the community of M'Bour, Senegal. Vivre Ensemble provides a home for over 200 vulnerable children that come from at-risk situations.
I would like to thank my friends and family for supporting my decision to go to Senegal. I would like to thank my Cultural Difference and Social Change class for helping me understand this process. Finally, I would like to thank the people of Senegal for their hospitality and for sharing their culture with me.
